A36 Steel Plate is primarily composed of iron, carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and several other alloying elements. Among these components, iron is the main element, accounting for more than 99% of the overall chemical composition. The carbon content, typically around 0.2%, provides the steel with a balanced combination of hardness and toughness. In addition, the inclusion of silicon, manganese, and other elements helps improve the material’s overall strength and durability.

The levels of phosphorus and sulfur are carefully controlled at relatively low concentrations to ensure good weldability and reliable corrosion resistance. Because of this balanced chemical composition, A36 steel plate offers excellent mechanical properties, including high tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and impact toughness compared with ordinary carbon steels.

Due to its good strength, formability, and welding performance, A36 steel plate is widely used in construction, structural engineering, machinery manufacturing, bridges, industrial equipment, and general fabrication applications.
