Before galvanizing, the steel surface is first pickled to remove iron oxide and other impurities. After pickling, the material is cleaned in ammonium chloride solution, zinc chloride solution, or a mixed flux solution, and then immersed into the hot-dip galvanizing bath. This process creates a uniform and dense zinc coating on the steel surface.
