1008 Steel is commonly used for commercial-quality cold-rolled steel sheet applications. It is an economical and versatile general-purpose steel grade that provides moderate strength and toughness, making it suitable for a wide range of low-stress applications.

As a standard low-carbon steel grade, 1008 steel offers excellent weldability, including spot welding, projection welding, butt welding, and fusion welding. It also features good brazeability and excellent formability, allowing it to be used in manufacturing processes such as extrusion, cold heading, cold upsetting, and cold pressing.

Another important advantage of 1008 steel is its smooth and refined surface finish, which is significantly superior to that of hot-rolled A36 Steel. Because of its excellent surface quality and processing performance, 1008 steel is widely used in automotive parts, household appliances, stamped components, fabricated metal products, and general manufacturing applications.
