A36 Steel Bar is a carbon structural steel that complies with ASTM standards for chemical composition and mechanical properties. It is primarily composed of iron, carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and other trace elements, with iron accounting for more than 99% of its total composition. The carbon content is typically around 0.2%, providing a balanced combination of hardness and toughness. The addition of silicon and manganese further enhances the steel’s strength and durability, while controlled low levels of phosphorus and sulfur help ensure good weldability and corrosion resistance.
A36 steel bar is widely used in welded, bolted, and riveted construction for bridges, buildings, and general structural applications. Due to its relatively low yield strength, it enables the design of lighter-weight structural systems while still maintaining reliable performance.
