AISI 4130 Steel Bar is a high-strength, low-alloy steel widely used in demanding industrial applications involving high temperature, high pressure, and high mechanical stress. It is a chromium–molybdenum alloy steel that provides significantly higher strength and toughness compared with many standard steel grades.
Because of its relatively lower carbon content, AISI 4130 steel bar offers improved weldability compared with higher-carbon alloys such as 4140, although this may come with some limitations in through-thickness strength.
